Should I use a member's real name online?
The reason that we use nicknames is to ensure a member's privacy. Often times a member may give their real name for another member to use.

It is proper netiquette to only a use a member's real name if the member allows you to, and even then it is to be used only in private messaging, so that others may not know it or use it.

To summarize, only use a member's real name if you were given it by the member. And even then, only use it in private messaging. If you have not been given allowance to to use a member's real name then only use their nickname.
