Early one saturday morning,(just as the birds are begining to sing their joyful songs), I am awoken by the sound of my phone ringing. " Are you free tonight?" asks a dark and mysterious voice.
"Maybe", I reply.." who wants to know?". "Well you have been selected to enjoy an evening out with Matt" Thinking hard, I reply.." I don't know anyone called Matt". "No, we haven't actually met yet but I have seen you around town and have tried to catch your eye on a number of occasions, but you are always so preocupied that you dont seem to notice me. Would you have dinner with me this evening?"
"Ok, but what time will you pick me up...I assume you know where I live ?". " I'll send my limo round at seven pm sharp,and we will have pre dinner drinks at the Hilton Hotel...then a candlelit dinner for two and I have tickets for the theatre. Evening dress will be required, I have taken the liberty of having some dresses sent to your place for your approval...pick whichever you like the most and it's yours to keep."
At lunch time the door bell rings....a huge bouquet of fragrant red roses arrive, accompanied by a choice selection of chocolates. At seven pm , clad in my new eveing gown, and looking a million dollars, I step into the limo and there is the most gorgeous looking man I have ever seen sitting there. " You look absolutely stunning" he breathes.......and as he moves over for me to sit beside him, the driver closes the door carefully behind me. A magical evening follows....strawberry cocktails and then a beautiful meal.....and a show at one of the hottest spots in the city. On the ride home, Matt pulls me close to him and says " I want to thank you for coming out with me...I have liked you for a long time but couldn't gather the courage to ask you out...then the other night I saw you at the club with another man and I was afraid I had missed my chance forever......!!".
Laughing softly, I reply........" that was my brother and I look forward to seeing you again......soon" |
