Hi, and welcome to the first newsletter of 2007! Just a short note to let you know some of the latest changes here at Megafriends:
CHAT CHANGES:

We have made a change to how you can monitor your private chatroom. We have removed the 'kick' feature which was allowing members that were removed from your chatroom to return with a new 'ban' feature. Now when a member is removed they can no longer access your room. Simply click the 'b' which is beside their nickname in the user menu and they will be banned for the life of the room.
PROFILES SHOW MATCHED CRITERIA

A member's profile will now show you a quick visual on which criteria that you match on. You will see a new column on the right of the criteria list that shows a checkmark for the ones you match and an 'x' for the ones you don't. These matches are based on your Search criteria.
OCCUPATION LIST NOW ALLOWS 'DISABLED'
===================================
The list of Occupations now allows you to choose 'Disabled' if you are disabled and no longer working at a particular occupation.
INCREASED SCAM ACTIVITY
=====================
Each year the Scam activity rises, especially at this time of year. Please be vigilant! This is big business and Scam Artists are very adept at their trade. Here are a few tips:
1. Ask specific questions and expect specific answers. Scammers often use prepared responses.
2. Never give out your email address! In addition to being against our Terms it also opens you up to receive spam and junk mail. The unfortunate reality is that there are people out there that trawl for email addresses for this purpose.
3. Never send money! If a member asks for money, in any amount, this is a clear indication that it is a scam. Please forward us the nickname of this member immediately.
If you have reason to believe a member is 'not up to par' please let us know. You can easily report a member via the 'Report Profile' link on the right-hand menu of their profile. Remember, be vigilant!
A BIT OF HUMOR

I know Marg will hit me for this one (she's a real health nut... LOL!):
A Doctor was addressing a large audience in Tampa. "The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is awful. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water. But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have, or will, eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?" After several seconds of quiet, a 75-year-old man in the front row raised his hand, and softly said, "Wedding Cake."
