Hello! Just a short update to let you know some of the latest, greatest changes here at Megafriends:
HAVE A LOOK AT US AGAIN!
=========================
As you can see we have made another big change to our layout! Gone is the left-hand menu and now is the new top menu. We have had the left-hand menu since our inception over 5 years ago and it has served us well but unfortunately it doesn't allow us to do several of the new, upcoming features we have planned (oh yes, there's more coming!). :)
WHY THE CHANGE?
===============
We understand that major changes like this affect all members, especially our long time members that have grown accustomed to certain aspects of the site, like a menu. While comfortabilty certainly is a factor of the user experience sometimes change is required for a long time gain.
Several factors have led us to initiate the menu change, one of which is the removal of the left-hand menu simply allows us more page width. This extra page width is required for some upcoming features and the new Account Homepage and the multi-paged Profiles that will soon be released. As well, it allows us to widen various pages such as the Forums to allow easier readability.
Another reason is that usability studies have shown that a top-down listing menu subconsciously sets priority precedence where as links move further down the list they get used less. Each of these links are equally important and we want to emphasize this.
Again, we understand that changes affect usability but we believe that this one, given time, will prove to be better.
HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS
==================
A duplicate page span (links to other pages) has been added to the 'member's online' pages below the first section when you do a gender based listing. Please keep in mind that the page span is for ALL members including both male and female. There may be times when there are no more members available in the gender you are viewing but are available in the other gender.
Also, the member's photo on these pages are now linked and clickable.
The 'Interested' link has been moved to the top of your Bookmarks page.
DID YOU KNOW REVISITED
======================
Did you know that when you contact us via the 'Contact Us' link on the bottom menu our reply will show on the same page? Yep, it's true. When we reply to you we send you an email notification that your reply will be located here on the Contact Us page. Scroll to the bottom of the page to view the reply.
A BIT OF HUMOR!
===============
An 80-year-old man went into the confessional and told the priest the following: "Father, I am an 80-year-old man, I'm married, I have four children and eleven grandchildren. Last night I strayed and had an affair with two 19-year-old girls. We partied and made love all night long."
The priest said, "My son, when was the last time you were at confession?"
The old man said, "I have never been to confession. I'm not Catholic."
The priest said, "Then why are you here telling me this?"
The old man said, "Father, I'm telling everyone!"
